Dress Code

Clubhouse
It is expected that all guests will adhere to the dress code in a fashion befitting the surroundings and atmosphere provided in the setting of the Shelter Harbor Golf Club.

The following is considered appropriate attire in the clubhouse: 
  • Men: Golf attire, collared shirts, casual or dress slacks and shorts. Shirts must be tucked in unless designed otherwise.
  • Women: Non-revealing dresses, blouses, skirts, pants, white denim or shorts.
  • Clothing must be in perfect repair and may not be torn or tattered.
  • Shoes including athletic shoes and sandals must be worn.
  • Men are not permitted to wear hats in the clubhouse.
  • Women may wear hats with the visor facing forward.
  • Jackets are required only for evening social events specifically designated by the House Committee or Golf Committee.
The following is not considered appropriate attire in the clubhouse:
  • Tanks tops, novelty T-shirts, cargo pants and rubber flip flops.

Clubhouse Policies

Tipping

Tipping is not permitted at the Club with the exception of the caddies, massage therapist and fitness instructor.

Cell Phone & Handheld Devices

Guests are permitted to use their cell phone or handheld device for text or email use while in the clubhouse and locker rooms. Should a guest wish to take or make a call, they must use one of the private rooms (card room, living room, Founders Room on the second floor), if available. Out of respect for other members and guests using the clubhouse, the doors should be closed during the duration of the call. All ringers must be kept on vibrate or silent at all times. Cell phone and handheld device use is not permitted on the golf course except for determining yardage.

Smoking

Smoking is permitted only in designated areas.

Cash & Credit Cards

All food, beverages, cottages, guest and green fees, and other goods and services shall be paid by signed receipt of the member. Guests may use credit cards and cash for purchases in the golf shop. There is an ATM located in the golf shop and it is accessible to guests.
